Apple Picked 5G Over 120Hz For iPhone 12 Pro

We have been hearing many rumors about Apple’s next iPhone models for the couple of months. But finally, we are only hours away from the official release of the iPhone 12 series.

As Apple promised they would announce the iPhone 12 on October 13 at 10 AM PDT, the popular leaker Jon Prosser gave another surprise to everyone. That’s right!  A single day ahead, Prosser shared something shocking about the iPhone 12 Pro model.

According to Jon, 120hz is not being implemented in iPhone 12 Pro because the next iPhone 12 Pro model is all about battery life, and Apple doesn’t want to compromise it. He said that the hardware was more than capable but eats through the battery, and 5G drains enough battery by itself.

Hence, Apple either had to choose 120Hz or 5G technology for iPhone 12 Pro and choose 5G over 120hz.  After the practice, Apple found that 120hz display gobbles the battery, and 5G kills the battery. So having both features on the device would not be the good idea to produce a productive product.

Apple also thinks people would care for 5G much over 120hz display. It will also be much easier to market “your phone is faster because of 5G,” than explain display rate. So 120hz is listed for next year.

Let’s wait more hours to see the final release of the iPhone 12 Pro. Apple could also release iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. We can also expect two new wireless chargers named “MagSafe” and “MagSafe Duo” and AirPods Studio.
