  5. Select the reaction you want to use by performing the corresponding hand gesture.
  6. The other person on the call will be able to see your reaction in real-time.

How to turn off reactions on Facetime on iOS 17?

  1. Tap on the Reactions button located in the Video Effects menu. This will disable reactions for the current call.
  2. Alternatively, you can swipe up from the bottom of the screen to close the Control Center.
  3. This will exit the Video Effects menu and return you to your FaceTime call without using reactions.

Remember, turning off reactions doesn’t disable them permanently. You can always reactivate them for future calls.
