As an iPhone user, I update my iPhone to the latest version. I have also recently updated my iPhone to the new iOS 16.3.1. But within a few minutes, I discovered the Google Photos app was not working. When I tried to open the Google Photos app after the IOS 16.3.1 update, it started crashing and didn’t allow me to use it on my iPhone.

I initially thought Google Photos crashed on iOS 16.3.1 only on my iPhone, but many other users are dealing with the same problem. However, I tried to look for a solution. Of course, many blogs suggest multiple workarounds. But there is one method that worked for me and many other users. So here I am going to show the solution.

How To Fix IOS 16.3.1 Google Photos Crashing Not Working

Note: As many users started complaining about the Google Photos issue after iOS 16.3.1, Google released the new app update version 6.23.1. So, updating the latest Google Photos app after the iOS 16.3.1 update helps users get rid of the crashing issue of the Google Photos app.

  1. Open the App Store App.
  2. Tap on the Profile.
  3. Tap on Update next to Google Photos.
  4. Wait for the installation and open it again.
