Five Tips on Valentine's Day for iPhone Users

Today is Valentine’s Day, and it’s a great time to show someone who has been in your life for a long time that you care. You can order flowers, buy chocolates or even write them a poem. Whatever you decide will make them feel special and happy. This might not be possible for people who are miles away from their loved ones.

However, this is possible in the digital world. If you look at Valentine’s Day as a beautiful tradition, we have five easy ways for you to send adorable Valentine’s Day greetings from your iPhone.

Send Heart Balloon

If you’re a fan of throwing a little thrill into your text messages, then you might know that iMessage supports fun effects. One of our favorites is a heart-shaped balloon – perfect to use around Valentine’s Day!

To send this message, type your message and then the long-press send option. Now you will see various effects to send your message. Tap on “Screen” and swipe right to find the effect named “send with love.” You will see a heart balloon on the written message. Now click the send button, and a heart animation will be added to your message.

Use Digital Touch to Send a Kiss

Digital Touch is a really cool feature that allows you to send animations for Valentine’s Day. You can do things like send flowers or kiss animations, for example.

In order to do that, launch iMessage and open the chat of your partner or loved one. You will have an option called “Digital Touch” at the bottom of the screen. If you’re finding the icon hard to find, try scrolling from left to right.

  • You have to place two fingers on the screen, and a heartbeat will be sent to the person.
  • If you want to send a kiss, you need to tap on the screen with two fingers.

Let Hearts Fly

This brings up the fun iMessage effects from before with the dancing or flying hearts. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Launch iMessage and open the chat of your loved ones.
  2. Don’t write anything. Just select a heart emoji and press enter at least two-three times.
  3. Now select one or two (not three) heart emojis.
  4. Then, press and hold the send button to find the effects,
  5. Select “Screen,” and you will see an effect called “Send with Echo.”
  6. You will see hearts flying and dancing on the screen. Now tap on the send option.

Search and Send GIFs

iMessages allow you to send emojis in messages as well as GIFs – which is short for “graphics interchange format,” and it can be a short animated clip. You can also find many GIFs on the topic of love and share them with your significant other on Valentine’s Day.

  1. Launch iMessage and open the chat of a person you want to send a GIF to.
  2. In the bottom bar, you will see a symbol of magnifying glass with the “#images” name.
  3. You will see popular GIFs here. In the search bar, you can find GIFs on the subject of “love,” “kisses,” “hugs,” or “Valentines Day.”
  4. Tap send icon and send the GIF you like.

Find Matching Emojis

A common problem with using emojis is finding the right symbol. That’s why Apple created a search feature to find an emoji quicker and easier. However, you need to enable emoji keywords first. Here’s how to do it.

Navigate to “Settings.” => General => Keyboard => Keyboards => Emoji Symbols

Now when you open the iOS keyboard, for example, in iMessage or WhatsApp, you tap on the globe icon (located in the bottom left corner of the keyboard) or emoji button to open all emojis. Above letters in the “Search Emoji” field, you type “kiss” or “love” and find what you need. The emoji keyboard gives you the option to scroll through the various emojis from right to left. This way, you can find an appropriate one in a matter of seconds for your loved ones.
