Apple has made its own ecosystem with Apple products and is constantly upgrading to something new to provide its users with the best possible experience. Keeping all the upgrades in mind, let us talk about the next generation of CarPlay. Recently Apple hinted that the first vehicles will have the support of the next generation car play. This is most likely to be announced in late 2023. Let us look at what new features and upgrades the next generation Apple CarPlay consists of.

What is CarPlay?

CarPlay is a feature on your iPhone that lets you use your iPhone in your car in a safe and easy way. It connects your iPhone to your car’s screen and lets you control it with your voice or buttons on the steering wheel. This means you can make phone calls, listen to music, get directions, and do other things without having to look at your phone. This makes it safer for you to use your phone while you’re driving.

What are the new features of Apple CarPlay 2023?

Technically speaking we won’t be able to take advantage of these features until next year since Apple is said to release these features in late 2023 on the vehicles that are manufactured by Acura,Audi, Honda, Jaguar, Land Rover, Nissan, Volvo, Mercedes Benz, Porche. Let us look into the details of all the new features, shall we?

  • In order to provide a seamless experience across the navigation system, instrument cluster, and any additional screens on the dashboard, the next version of CarPlay will be able to appear across all of the displays in a vehicle. According to Apple, CarPlay will be customized to each new vehicle model to support specialized screen layouts and forms.
  • The new CarPlay will provide you immediate access to your vehicle’s climate controls, letting you change the A/C or heat temperature, fan speed, heated seats, heated steering wheel, and other settings.
  • Apple will also let automakers tweak the CarPlay user interface, but it’s unclear how much leeway the firm will give in this area given its wellknown walled garden strategy.
  • A vehicle’s instrument cluster, which houses the speedometer, tachometer, odometer, fuel gauge, engine temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge, and other instruments, will be integrated with the new CarPlay experience. According to Apple, drivers will have a variety of gauge cluster layouts and designs to select from, including options specific to particular brands.
  • Apple also claims that alternative layout possibilities will be available for an additional degree of flexibility. For the various components of your car’s interface, you can also select your own typefaces, font sizes, and font colors.

Before the official launch later this year, Apple will release additional details about the next version of CarPlay. The above features are just the basic, there are still many more upgrades.
