There are many features that can along with iOS 16, but live activities are the one which is the most useful feature of all. Live activities were supposed to be released with iOS 16 but there was some delay due to which live activity feature was released with iOS 16.1. Live Activities appear on your home screen at a moment that suits your requirements, whether it’s to check the score, monitor your flight, or have quick access to your todo list. Uber and Uber eats were left out to support live activities at that time, and now users gradually got support for live activities on iOS 16 for Uber as well.
With iOS 16.1 when live activities rolled out, uber was still behind the game to gain its support. Weeks later, users are finally getting the support of uber for live activities. It is reported that uber and uber eats both have been implementing the live activity feature, but any official word from this app is yet to be released.
How To Use Live Activities iOS 16 For Uber
First, you need to enable the live activity feature from the settings app.
- Go to the settings app on your iPhone.
- Click on the face id and passcode.
- Enter your passcode.
- In the allow access when locked section locates live activities.
- Toggle on the live activities option.
After enabling the live activity feature you need to also enable the uber live activity option from the settings app.
- Go to the settings app on your iPhone.
- Make sure that the live activities feature is enabled, if not follow the steps given above.
- Go to the uber application tab.
- Enable the live activities toggle.
When the live activity feature is activated for Uber, the Live Activities begin as soon as a trip is requested. As the user approaches their destination, the Uber app will update the status of the current journey. While a customer waits for their trip, it will display their estimated ETA along with the driver’s progress to the pickup point. The Live Activities feature will display the driver’s path with a moving indicator after the customer has been picked up by their Uber driver. The anticipated ETA will also alter if outside variables, such as traffic and weather change.
Some iPhone 14 pro users claim that there have been some things left out with the live activities on the dynamic island. It displays the anticipated time of your arrival next to an icon for a taxi. However, you need to longpress Dynamic Island to see all of the details of the Live Activity as all the details are not displayed in the dynamic island.
NOTE: If you are not able to locate the live activity option of the uber in the settings app, then you need to wait a little while longer as uber support for live activity has been slowly rolling out and may take time to implement this change in your region.
