Fortnite was removed from the iOS App Store in 2020, leaving many iPhone and iPad users unable to play the popular battle royale game. Recently, an unofficial mod called Project Era has gained popularity as a way for iOS users to play Fortnite again.

Project Era is not available on the App Store. It requires a process called “sideloading” to install on iOS devices. Here, we have explained what Project Era is, how to download it using the ios.erafn.org site, and install it with sideloading to play Fortnite on your iPhone.

What is Project Era?

Project Era is an unofficial Fortnite mod developed by the EraFN group. It allows iOS users to play older seasons and versions of Fortnite from 2018 and 2019. This includes the classic map, old gameplay mechanics, skins, items, and limited time modes no longer available.

Essentially, Project Era brings back the original Fortnite experience removed after Chapter 2 launched. It runs as a separate app from the main Fortnite game.

How to Download Project Era

Originally, Project Era could be downloaded from the ios.erafn.org site. However, this site has been offline for several days as of writing.

The only way now to get Project Era is through its Discord channel. You’ll need to join the Project Era Discord and follow the instructions to download the IPA file. Here’s a direct link to download iOS Erafn Project Era IPA –https://cdn.erafn.org/ProjectEra.ipa.

This will download the latest Project Era season 8.

How to Sideload Project Era with Sideloadly

Since Project Era is not available on the App Store, you’ll need to sideload the IPA file onto your iOS device using a service like Sideloadly.

Sideloading allows installing apps from outside the App Store by signing them with your Apple ID. Follow these steps:

  1. Install Sideloadly on your Windows or Mac computer.
  2. Connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer via USB or Wi-Fi.
  3. In Sideloadly, login with your Apple ID and drag in the downloaded Project Era IPA file.
  4. Click Start and Sideloadly will sign and install Project Era onto your device.

You’ll then need to trust Project Era in your iOS settings before launching it. The process is Settings => General => VPN & Device Management and Trust the developer name.

Launch Fortnite through Project Era

Once Project Era is installed, open the app on your iPhone. It will begin downloading Fortnite data which may take some time.

When you get the login screen, you’ll sign in using a Project Era account, not your original Epic Games account. Here’s how to connect them:

  1. Install Project Era on your PC from the website.
  2. Sign In with your Discord account on Project Era PC.
  3. Go to Library > Launch. Copy the external login credentials shown.
  4. Use those details to login to Fortnite from Project Era on your iPhone.

After logging in, Fortnite will finish updating and you can play just like before it was removed. This includes the original map, gameplay, skins, and even the item shop.

You can even play online against other Project Era users. Overall, it’s a great way for iOS Fortnite fans to relive old seasons that are no longer accessible.

Conclusion

Project Era lets iOS users get Fortnite back after its App Store removal. By sideloading with Sideloadly, you can install and play classic Fortnite seasons from 2018 on your iPhone and iPad devices.

Just keep in mind you’ll need to refresh Project Era every 7 days using Sideloadly before it gets revoked. But otherwise, it’s straightforward to set up and brings back all the original Fortnite nostalgia.

So, if you miss the old Fortnite map and want to drop back into the early seasons, Project Era is the perfect solution for iOS users in 2024 until the official version arrives.
