Adding widgets on the iPhone’s lock screen is an aesthetic and useful feature Apple delivered with the release of iOS 16 update. For many users, iOS 16 Lock Screen weather widget is not working on the iPhone lock screen.

During this winter, I often check my current temperature on my iPhone’s lock screen with the help of a weather widget. But the weather widget is not working on the lock screen of my iOS 16 running iPhone. Since I noticed the weather widget was missing from the lock screen, I tried to fix the issue and came out with some working methods.

How To Fix iOS 16 Lock Screen Weather Widget Not Working

Since the weather is a GPS-based app and your iPhone’s current location shows your place’s weather information, you should allow location for the weather app. Once you have enabled Location access for weather app, you will be able to use weather widget on the lock screen of iPhone without any issue.

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Go to the Weather app.
  3. Tap on Location.
  4. Select Always and also enable the toggle next to Precise Location.

Once you have allowed the Location option for the weather app, you will be able to get rid of iOS 16 Lock Screen weather widget not working error on your iPhone.

Alternatives Ways To Fix Weather Widget Not Working on iOS 16

If the above method doesn’t work for you, you can also reset the Location & Privacy of the device to fix the issue. You can go to Settings > General > Reset > select Reset Location & Privacy. Also, we suggest you keep the weather app updated with the latest version.
