Starting from January 19, the Government of the USA initial the online portal to get a free COVID test kit at home. Every home in the US is eligible to order up to four free home COVID-19 tests kits which are free to order and get. Once you request the kit, it will take around 7 to 12 days to ship to your address.
Where to order a free COVID-19 tests kit?
The resident of America can visit the online covidtests.gov website to order a Free COVID tests kit. You should tap on the Order Free At-Home Tests button, fill up the detail, and make the order on the website. Once you initiate the order, it will usually take 7-12 days to deliver to your home.
The free COVID tests kit will include rapid gen test no PCR. You can also take it anywhere, and it gives the result in half an hour. It will work whether you have COVID or no symptoms. People also call it self-test or counter-test.
Currently, the website stated that the initial program only allows four free individual tests per residential address to promote broad access. We can expect more limits in the future. The federal government has already planned to distribute 420 billion tests kit, and they are planning to increase the order to 1 billion in a few weeks.
There are many other locations where you can get free tests kit at participating pharmacy locations, community health centers, and Federal Emergency Management Agency-backed sites.
The government has already spent around $4 billion on the first 500 million tests, and more money will be consumed from the coronavirus relief bill Biden signed into law in March. It will cost around $1.9 trillion.
