Have you ever wanted to send a fake location to someone and make it look like you are somewhere else, instead of partying at your friends? Or maybe you want to play games or access any application that are not available in your region. You can do so by faking GPS location on your iOS device. While Apple doesn’t allow this by default, there are many ways iPhone users have come up with over the years. Let me show you some of the workarounds on how to fake GPS location on iOS devices.
Using a VPN
One of the easiest ways to change your virtual location on iOS is using a VPN, or virtual private network. Here’s how it works:
- Sign up for a VPN service that offers location spoofing, like ExpressVPN or NordVPN. This usually requires a monthly or annual fee.
- Download the VPN provider’s app on your iPhone and log in.
- Open the app settings and find the location spoofing option.
- You can search and select a city/country to appear like you’re there.
- Connect to the VPN server and your device will now show that fake GPS data rather than your true location!
- Keep the VPN running in the background.
VPNs are great for quick location changes without installing anything else on your iPhone. However, some apps can detect when a VPN is in use, which they may block.
Using a Location Simulator
Another option is to use a location simulator tool like Dr.Fone – Virtual Location. Here’s how this works:
- Download and install the location simulator on your computer.
- Connect your iPhone to the computer and launch the app.
- In the Virtual Location tab, search for the place you want to simulate your GPS as being.
- With your iPhone connected, the app will override the real GPS data and make it appear you are in the simulated location.
This gives you more control over the fake location rather than just a city or country setting. The connection to the computer is required while using the simulated GPS feed.
Using Mock Location Apps
You can also download mock location apps from the App Store such as LocationHandle or LocationSpoofer. Here are the steps:
- Download a reliable mock locations app that is updated for iOS 16 support.
- Allow the app to access your Location data in your Privacy settings.
- Open the mock app, search for a place, and select Start Spoofing to override your real GPS location.
- Turn off the mock app when you want to disable the fake location.
The advantage of a dedicated mock app is you can preset multiple locations and easily swap between them as needed.
Using an App from Cydia App Store
If your iOS device is jailbroken, you can install an app like “Anywhere!” from the Cydia app store.
- After installing and launching the Anywhere app, you can search for a location to spoof your GPS as.
- The app will then make it appear you are in the selected fake location.
Note that this requires jailbreaking your iPhone, which can void the warranty and be risky. Only use this method if your device is already jailbroken.
That’s it folks! Choose any method that suits your fake location effortlessly. Let me know in the comment box down below which method worked for you. If you have any other suggestion, feel free to let us know.
Until next time, with another topic. Till then, Toodles.
