Apple has finally released iOS 16 at WWDC 2022 event after months of anticipation. It’s an update that provides upgrades to a variety of applications, including a redesigned home app for your smart appliances, improved privacy features, and an emphasis on the lock screen, with new fonts, colours, and themes to select from. iOS 16 is a significant update that will alter your iPhone experience.
In this article we are going to talk about iMessages update. Now that iPhone users will be able to edit and unsend iMessage messages, iOS 16 is set to be a game changer. Yes, you heard it correct with this new update coming this fall you will be able to edit or unsend text messages just like any other messaging app. The Messages app in iOS 16 is getting a variety of new features. Prepare to correct your errors.
Apple’s New Text Feature On iOS 16
Apple has updated Messages with numerous new features. Users may recover previously deleted messages, amend or recall recently sent messages, and mark chats as unread so they can return to them later.
Firstly, ‘undo send’ has come, enabling you to remove a message for up to 15 minutes after you’ve sent it — useful if you discover you’ve sent it to the incorrect person. Similarly, messages can be edited within the first 15 minutes. However, this only applies to iPhone-to-iPhone messaging.
By touching and holding on a bubble and selecting the option, users may alter or unsend a message. According to Apple, users may alter or unsend a message for up to 15 minutes after sending it, and they can recover recently deleted conversations for up to 30 days following deletion.
How to use new text feature: iOS 16 iMessages
Sent a wrong text! No worries at all. You can how easily edit those text messages and correct the error you made. All you have to do is press down the text and select “Edit.” After that you can do all the necessary changes. But keep in mind after editing the text, the other person might get notification of you editing the text message.
Second, earlier an iMessage can never be unsent or deleted once you have hit the send button. However, Apple has now provided the long-awaited upgrade, the unsend option. When you have a message in your hand, iOS 16 adds a “Undo Send” option to the menu. The message will be removed from the conversation.
Finally, when you begin a discussion, messages are marked as read, but what if you can’t answer immediately away? Do you want to remember the chat later? Conversations, like text messages, may now be marked as unread in iOS 16. Marking a chat as unread should work in both iMessage and SMS, however editing and Undo Send are only available in iMessage. All of these enhancements and more will be available in iOS 16 later this year.
