Is Resident Evil Village available on iPhone?
Since iPhone has a very strict policy about installing any third party application, this question is likely to occur on everyone’s mind. But to our luck Resident Evil Village is available on Apple Store for iPhone and iPad.
At Apple’s much anticipated iPhone 15 launch event on September 12th, the company revealed that a selection of graphically demanding console-quality games such as Resident Evil Village was officially launched to iOS devices.
Resident evil village iOS: Everything you need to know
Seeing Resident Evil Village running on the iPad was remarkable as it looked nearly identical to the PlayStation 5 version from 2021. The textures, lighting, shadows and overall visuals matched the fidelity of the console game.
The preview used a 12.9″ iPad Pro with the M2 chip. Capcom says Village will also run on iPhone 15 Pro models and iPads with M1 or newer processors.
Touchscreen controls were responsive but a Xbox controller can be used, with slight input lag which was very noticeable.
The opening 20 minutes of the game perfectly recreated the console experience. Beautifully detailed characters in cutscenes and realistic snowy environments made it seem like playing on a PS5. The lycans and footstep trails in snow reinforced the console-quality visuals.
With its console-level graphics and gameplay, Village shows off the Apple silicon’s capabilities. The detailed graphics settings allow tailoring performance to each device. At $30 it is pricier than many iOS games, but seems justified for a portable version of the AAA title.
Resident Evil Village is now on the App Store for $30, with cross save for the Mac version. A free demo lets you try before buying.
Capcom also announced Resident Evil 4 Remake is coming to iPhone, iPad and Mac OS later this year. Console-quality mobile gaming is here thanks to Apple’s powerful hardware.
