After the iPhone X series release, Apple has been adding two shortcuts on every model on the lock screen. The one flashlight button on the left bottom and another camera shortcut button on the right bottom corner of the lock screen. Still, many users wish to turn off the flashlight on iPhone 11, iPhone 12, and iPhone X series.
I have been using iPhone 11 for the last two years, but it annoys me sometimes when I unintentionally turn ON the flashlight in a public area or at my office. It looks foolish and embarrassed to turn on a flashlight in the middle of the day on your iPhone. It is mainly happening when I put out iPhone from my jean pocket. When it turns ON every time, I have to unlock the device to turn it off.
I also noticed that this is not a minor problem as many other iPhone users are looking to disable the flashlight from iPhone’s lock screen. If you are the one who is also struggling with the same problem, then here we will show you the solution.
How To Shut Off Flashlight On iPhone
Note: Since there are no specific settings or options to remove the flashlight button from the iPhone lock screen, we have followed a couple of tricks that will help you get rid of accidental flashlight turn-on.
Trick #1: Turn Off “Tap To Wake” Option
Turning off the “Take To Wake” option under the settings app will help you temporarily fix the flashlight problem.
- Launch the Settings App on your iPhone.
- Scroll down and tap on the “Accessibility” option.
- Tap on “Touch” under the Physical and Motor section.
- Now turn the toggle off next to the “Tap To Wake” option.
Trick #2: Turn Off “Raise to Wake” Option
Turning off the “Raise to Wake” option will also help users get rid of accidental flashlights. This feature is specially designed to turn the iPhone screen on when making eye contact with your iPhone. But sometimes, it wakes the screen and turns the flashlight on by mistake. Hence, you can also disable the Raise to Wake up option by following the below steps.
- Open the Settings app.
- Next, tap on the “Display & Brightness” option.
- Now turn the toggle off next to the “Raise to Wake” option.
Once you disable the Raise to Wake option, your iPhone’s home screen will only turn on when you press the power button. Hence, there is no risk of the accidental flashlight on now.
People expected the button to turn off the flashlight from the lock screen of the iPhone with the release of iOS 14. But we haven’t seen this option since then. But now, we can expect the switch from the next iOS 15 updates which will unveil at WWDC next month.
