After installing iOS 16 on my iPhone X device, I have seen a drastic change in battery life. I have noticed iOS 16 is draining battery life faster than earlier. However, I have spent too much time exploring new features of iOS 16. My iPhone’s battery is draining so fast after the 16 update.
Ever since I saw iOS 16 affect my iPhone’s battery life, I checked online about how to improve battery life on iOS 16. I saw some things on Twitter and Reddit that worked for them to fix the iOS 16 battery-draining issue. If your iPhone is also overeating power after iOS 16, you can also try out the below methods.
How To Fix iOS 16 Battery Draining Fast Issue
1. Disable Weather & Astronomy Wallpaper
One of the most common reasons for iOS 16 battery draining fast is weather & astronomy wallpaper lock and home screen. Yes, you have heard it right. Those who have enabled weather & astronomy on iPhone after iOS 16 update, the device is eating too much battery life since the feature frequently uses locations services. To save iOS 16 battery life, you can remove weather & astronomy wallpaper lock screen from your iPhone and fix iOS 16 battery drain issue.
2. Restart your iPhone
Sometimes, the issue with the battery draining could be a software error. So, your easiest fix for this issue is to restart the iPhone to repair any potential error you might be experiencing. Once you Power down the iPhone, wait for a minute or two and then restart the iPhone to check if the issue persists or not.
3. Check the battery-draining apps
The next thing you can do is check the app’s battery usage history. Some of the first and third-party apps installed in your iPhone with the iOS 16 might not work well and instead, act up. This could be a potential reason why your iPhone’s battery is draining out so quickly.
So, what we’d recommend you do is check the app performance on the iOS 16. It should give you a complete report about which apps are acting up and which ones you need to get rid of immediately.
Here’s how you can check:
- Open the Settings on your iPhone
- Tap on Battery
- Go to the Battery Usage tool
Check which apps are draining out the battery the most in your iPhone.
4. Reset all the Settings
If you find that your iPhone’s Settings is the reason why the battery is draining out so quickly, what we’d recommend you do is reset all the Settings. This is also an easy fix if you aren’t sure what’s causing the issue in the first place.
Here’s what you can do:
- Go to iPhone Settings
- Tap on General
- Go to Transfer or Reset iPhone
- Tap on Reset
- Tap on Reset All Settings and then enter your password for verification
Once you tap on that, the reset process will start. You might have to wait for a few minutes until the process is completed.
For me, disabling weather & astronomy wallpaper from the lock screen on iPhone worked like a charm to fix iOS 16 battery draining fast issue. If nothing works out for you, we’d recommend downgrading to the stable iOS 15 version instead. This might not get you access to the latest features you were getting with iOS 16 but you will at least not have to complain about the battery drainage issue anymore.
