Apple is releasing the initial iOS 12.1.2 developer beta soon after the official launch of iOS 12.1.1 final week. WatchOS 5.1.3 developer beta 1 for Apple Watch can be coming now. The release notes for the forthcoming iOS developer beta merely highlight bug fixes and functionality enhancements, but we will dig in and upgrade if any noteworthy changes are found.
It is possible the new iOS 12.1.2 beta may consist of clues regarding the standing on AirPower, Apple’s unreleased wireless charging pad, as well as more proof of this unannounced Smart Battery Case for iPhone XS — stay tuned.
At any rate, Apple has been conservative with version numbers this season despite breaking new features and improvements. Around this time this past year, the two iOS 11.1 and iOS 11.2 were published along with iOS 11.3 would appear in beta in late January.
